Mail art postcard No. 4489…

But first…
Dulltown, Europe: Today’s existential angst is centred around the sound of the word ‘soffit’. It is a word which should always be spoken very quietly.

Hey! Let’s bring a flash of brightness into these dingy Northern Hemisphere days with one of my recent mail art postcards:

WP F 4489 DSCN3596Snip, snip, snip, there goes another old copy of that awful TV listings magazine What’s On TV – now, where did I put that glue?…
Ah, yet again, the use of stuck on cut-out eyes transforms a very ordinary picture of a teddy bear into a striking and surreal image redolent of… er… something or other. Yes, inside every teddy bear there is an intense middle-aged man wondering how he got there. But perhaps this is a new and frivolous design of astronaut-wear, or even an amusing and stylish deep-sea diving suit?…
‘Come on you chaps! Let’s try to get these bronze cannon lifted off Captain Morgan’s galleon and up to the surface by lunchtime, then we can all go to the pub. Yes, I know these new suits are a bit awkward when they get wet, but they really do look great! You should see yourselves!…
Hey, you!… Yes you… in the Micky Mouse  – just keep your opinions to yourself – and you, who is that in the Barbie frock? Oh, it’s you Bill – do try to look enthusiastic will you! I don’t care if you are embarrassed!… Alright lads, come on, let’s go get them guns!…’
