LV?… See Plan…

But first…
Dulltown, Europe: Today’s sloth is the one picking through all the cabbages in the supermarket to determine which one is the best value.

My word! This is dramatic isn’t it?…
I took this picture on a bright crisp day last December here in Dulltown. For a few weeks serious-looking chaps in Hi-Vis jackets carrying what looked like metal detectors were roaming in gangs around the city centre. They constantly consulted sheaves of papers, scratched their heads, chatted, and stared at their displays, and they occasionally bent over and after a quick shake of a spray can, executed a colourful abstract painting on the road or pavement at their feet. They had a very nice colour sense, as you can see from the example above.
‘Alright Barry, let’s have some of that nice bright red next to those double yellow lines… Oh, and I think today, yes, a small fuzzy rectangle of misty white – no, not too near, how about there, up at the top? Yes Barry, that’s it!… Lovely… Oh, that’s one of your best yet!…’
I think what was going on was a big review of all the underground services, telephone, sewers, gas pipes, ley lines, electric cables, in the city centre; perhaps it’s something to do with all that fibre optic broadband cable being put in?… Attractive though, isn’t it. I’ve seen far less interesting work on the walls of art galleries…
