Oh, you are a one!…

But first…
Dulltown, Europe: Today’s giraffe is the one with a stiff neck.

‘Oh, you are a one…’
‘You, you are a one!…’
‘Me a 1…?’
‘No, a one.’
‘Well, you are a one too!…’
‘A 1-2…?’
‘No, not a one two, a one too.’
‘Ah right, so it’s just me, and you too.’
‘You 2?… Or was it U2 the band?’
‘No no no, not the band! No no Bono!… Phew!…’
‘No, not few!’
‘Many then?’
‘No, no, not many either.’
‘Ah, of course, but not too few…’
‘Not two few, that’s reasonable – a bit like an old sailing ship that you could buy… if you wanted to.’
‘Wanted two?’
‘No, just the one, its foresail… perhaps a nice fore-and-aft schooner?’
‘Eh?… A sailing ship for sale?’
‘Foresail, not for sale!’
‘I think I’m getting it now, that’s what this is all four, isn’t it?’
‘All for? For what? Four-square?’
‘One for all, and all for…’
‘A quadrillion…’
‘Yes, and what about religion?’
‘Indeed, Pope Sixtus the Fifth!’
‘That can’t be right, surely? He’s better left out of all this.’
‘All right?… Not even a few left then?’
‘Mm, not even one, or two…’
‘All dressed up to the…’
‘To the what?’
‘He was all at sixes and…
‘He was?… Him?…’
‘Hymn number…?’
‘One? Two?… buckle my hoof.’
‘Hoof… Yes…’
‘Look, can we just pause here? My head’s getting numb.’
‘Could it get any more numb?… Any number?…’
‘Any number… I don’t think I… this just defies logic!’
‘Justifies logic? Yes, of course it does!’
‘See, if and when, you add it all up…’
‘A four thought is a great thing…’
‘But four what? I’m not an accountant you know.’
‘A count ant?’
‘What time is it now?…’
‘Don’t know… I think it’s about one…’
