Lino lines with striped sun…

But first…
Dulltown, Europe: Today’s elephant in the room is the one that has just sat on, and destroyed, the new IKEA Westminster Retro Walnut dining table. (I W R W D T)

WP F DSCN3655Look, here’s another of my linocut prints – it’s on A4 size paper and was done, as you can see, a couple of years ago. It was a quick one, more of a linocut sketch I suppose.
What do you make of it?…
Me?… No, I haven’t a clue what it’s about… perhaps it shows a nice sunny day, note the striped sun beaming down – you didn’t know the sun was striped? Well, now it is… not just sunspots, but they have recently discovered ‘sunstripes’ – it’s all to do with the dark absorption lines in the spectrum – really?… No, no, I jest… Yes, a bright sunny day, and yes, what’s this? A bulky parcel has just thudded onto the doorstep, it’s from Amazon – come on, let’s open it up and see what treasures are inside… Oh dear, it’s full to the top  with sharp black zigzags… I didn’t order those! I was expecting a box set of DVDs of House with Hugh Laurie, series 1-3… Damn and blast!… Actually, you know, those zigzags would look rather good around the garden pond, perhaps I’ll hang on to them… Come on, give me a hand indoors with them – be careful… those corners look pretty sharp and spiteful!…

  1. Nice lino cut. Nice table too…..could do with a spot of paint to brighten it up mind you 😉 Oh but wait…glue it together first.
Its hot up here. As in clear blue sky, big yellow sun, hot. I should be grateful, but its a bit much suddenly after the clouds and rain. Mother Nature could turn it down a notch – I’m sure she got that sun on special offer. 😀

Oh I do like a nice Linocut!
