Don’t look at the eyes! Don’t look at the eyes!…

But first…
Dulltown, Europe: Today’s existential angst is centred around the sound of the word chutney.

DSCN4204‘This isn’t very interesting Dave.’
‘Yes it is…’
‘I can’t think why anyone would bother to take such a photograph David.’
‘Or, why one would put it online. Do you expect people to be interested enough to give it, even a cursory glance…’
‘A cursory glance? What’s that?’
‘I don’t know, but I’ve heard people say it.’
‘Don’t look at the eyes! Don’t look at the eyes!…’
‘Yes, yes, I know… I read it.’
‘Have you noticed the upended boxes on the right-hand side yet?’
‘Upended? That’s a funny word David.’
‘Yes, isn’t it? So, did you notice them?’
‘Of course. What about them?’
‘Oh, nothing… What about the upside down one at the end of the top row?’
‘Mm yes, very playful I’m sure…’
‘But don’t you think this photograph might have just a hint of Andy Warhol about it?’
‘No… Not really… Aha!…’
‘Yes?… Have you seen something? Do you get it now?’
‘No, but it reminded me that I have to go to Tescos later to buy some asparagus…’
‘Yes, the nice thin ones that they do, not those thick stolid woody ones.’
‘Hm… asparagus… right ho…’

About Dave Whatt

Grumpy old surrealist artist, musician, postcard maker, bluesman, theatre set designer, and debonair man-about-town. My favourite tools are the plectrum and the pencil...

  1. I like the creepiness of this….reminds me why I have a dog and not a cat 😀

  2. Shammy says:

A little bit hypnotic when you move the screen up and down. And that Felix in the middle is downright scary.

  3. Well, our Mungo & Mattie think this is the most interesting picture you’ve taken yet, Dave. (Though they don’t eat Felix, but it’s good to see how the other half lives.) They think the most attractive part is right in the middle, as it’s the only cat with ears.
