Bus rain red traffic glass wet…

But first…
Dulltown, UK: Today’s existential angst is centred around the sound of the word hurdy-gurdy.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

dscn4768Hm, there’s something quite stimulating about rainy dark January evenings isn’t there?
Front seat upstairs on a double-decker bus – the droplets (what a very nice moist sounding word is droplets!) smearing the view of the traffic waiting at the lights – oh, that sky is a nice hue too – it all looks so miserable, but at the same time so beautiful in a pop art technicolor moody urban sort of way, don’t you think dear reader? I wonder if my little camera will decide to try to focus on the misting inside, and those close by streaks and dribbles the wind is fiddling with on the glass outside, or will it concentrate its attention on the more mundane solid lumpy things beyond? Come on, do try to hold the camera steady Dave, there’s not a lot of light out there… Click!…
By the way, what do you think of my title? Perhaps it is a bit too poetic, stream of consciousness, for you?
Hell, I don’t care – it’s just a silly photo after all…

  1. Well, I like the whole thing , words and photo.

The smears of red are fleeting though, aren’t they….the traffic moves and dull Hull is revealed….or wait, is this one of those cultural public art video projections you spoke of?

    • Dave Whatt says:

No no, Dana – this is art in the raw!… Real as anything!…

      • Dana Doran says:

Yes, yes – I understood it to be unretouched photography – and it is quite lovely. I was just thinking how funny it would be if it was documentation of a video projection….you know, because some things artists do are ridiculous…and I get carried away…

      • Dave Whatt says:

Actually it does look pretty spectacular for just a murky evening here in Dulltown – it looks like something a band would projected behind them on stage.

  3. I thought it was haiku when I read the title. The picture looks bizarrely cosy – as in it makes the viewer glad they aren’t out there in the dreich evening. 🙂

  4. Jheron Bash says:

OR: Red wet bus glass traffic rain. Dreich indeed!
