Some snatches of overheard and misheard cafe conversation…

But first…
Dulltown, UK: Today’s Victorian expletive is one which sounds authentic, but rather than upsetting his readers with real oaths, was made up by Charles Dickens for one of his characters – ‘Dang my bootuns!’

‘It’s one of those savoury towels Margaret…’
‘A genuine kind of lift?’
‘The wall has gone on one side.’
‘Stephanie bite, Bathany south.’
‘It’s going to be strife!…’
‘Eco-wise it’s a standard unit.’
‘What? A boat leg?…’
‘It was lucky because I knew the chef…’
‘He was moon generous all the way.’
‘HMS what to do, just a crap person Gerry.’
‘Some sort of gallances?’
‘He was doing some tricks with life belts.’
‘A job as a bottle?’
‘Taking a swing at him on the news.’
‘Steaming jugs and thinking all these things.’
‘Three citizens leave their bags now.’
‘I was busy wedging all my shirts.’
‘A new neck-pole ramp on Saturday morning?’
‘Try crying just here my friend…’
‘She was shaking the time like a rube.’
‘Drama shoes?’
‘An area in the mind with whelp friends.’
‘Oh nice! Barron’s Court!…’
‘It was just a bird in the piano.’

Just may be that most of these were misheard in an emergency room….. “he was doing some tricks with lifebelts.” Oh my!

      Ho ho! Thank you Kate!
Hm… savory towels with peanut butter…
I just realised that I accidentally slipped into US spelling – should have been ‘savoury’ towels… I’d better go and change it at once…
