Hey! Excuse me! I’m trying to write something here!…

But first…
Dulltown, UK: Today’s existential angst is centred around the sound of the word pommel. (P)

Isn’t it funny how the loudest people in the cafe are always the ones having the most boring conversations?
These folk generally seem to be found in groups, groups of grey suited ‘business people’, usually with a single dominant character (M or F), who is used to addressing meetings and seminars in a monotonic, penetrating, and confident voice. They obviously have trouble with, or just don’t feel the need to bother with, the accepted behavioural niceties when sharing a public place with other humans. They probably think that annunciating in that manner is a special skill, that they have struggled to develop over the years, and is something to practise and refine, and is something of which to be proud:

APR! APR Tony!…
Ā£90,000 for a bloody car!
We end up paying!
That is versus not doing it Jennifer!
Ha ha ha ha!
In absolute terms…
Financing that is alright…
Joan in sales actually said…
Invoices are everything.
A visit from head office is in the wind.
Utrecht!… Utrecht!… (sneezes).
They are regionally connected Tony.
No, I can’t imagine him going for it Janet.
A real group effort is necessary!
The only thing is…
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah!
All the forms – across the bloody board.
It’s called ‘being involved’ Michael!
A powerful dynamic.
And in front of a full bloody conference room!
A meritocracy?…
It’s straight tube run.
More emails from hell!…
Do you have a problem with that Jennifer?…

  1. Haha, yes….business people are such characters! Way back, I used to have a boss who ended every meeting with a wave saying “I thank you for your attention in this meeting, please keep me in the loop, Buh-BYE!” and strode from the room. Oh, have you ever watched the movie “Office Space”? Its very amusing. šŸ˜€

  2. Dana Doran says:

So, not surprisingly, I found myself looking at youtube clips of Office Space!
