Decalcomania with stickiness…

But first…
Dulltown, UK: Today’s elephant in the room is the one sitting on the settee with her feet up on the coffee table bragging on about her recent skiing holiday in Switzerland.

Untitled decalcomania monoprint (2010). Black acrylic paint and pencil on nice white drawing paper about 16″ x 12″.

Oh, I love decalcomania! All those lovely delicate forms, and that fine filigree detail, the creation of which involves virtually no effort on the part of the artist!…  It looks like someone has sweated over this one with a fine pen or brush for several miserable long hours.
Would you like to know how you could produce such a thing dear reader, in the comfort of your own home? Just send me a cheque for £24.99, and inside three working days you could receive in the post full instructions and…
No, no, no!… I jest dear reader! Just a touch of whimsy! But if you would like to know how I produce loopy things like this, all you need do is to click below to view an earlier post of mine on the subject, where you will find full instructions on how to do it. (Click)

But what do you think is going on in this one? Do you see a couple of figures? Are they animals, or humans – they don’t really look much like either do they? And what the hell are they doing? Is that glue they are arsing about with? Or is it Grandma’s knitting wool they are trying to get into some sort of order before she comes rolling back drunk from the pub? There’ll be hell to pay if they don’t get it straightened out – you know what she’s like when she’s had a couple of beers!…
See how the beast on the right is leaning back pulling at the strands – I think the beast on the left looks a bit more confident, stable, and resolute though, don’t you?
‘How dare you grab my spaghetti like that! Give it back at once!’
‘No, It’s mine! I demand that you let go of it! Right bloody now!…’
‘By the way…’
‘What time is it?’
‘Aha!… You’ll not trick me into glancing at my watch and letting go, you swine!’
