Oh Dave, not another spillage!…

But first…
Dulltown, UK: Today’s weather will feature: regal gusts, crown clouds, confetti showers, right royal rain, pomp droplets, imperial strata, heraldic tinctures, and a super sovereign sunset.

Of course I took this one looking downwards.
I reckon this is white gloss paint landing on a dark asphalt path – which looks surprisingly blueish in this photo doesn’t it? It was probably the colour of the light on that bright crisp February day well over a year ago.
Do you like the way the inclusion of the grassy area at the bottom makes the whole thing look more upright? As if it’s been painted on a wall rather than a horizontal surface.
It’s a very expressive bit of spatter and running isn’t it?

‘What do you make of it Holmes?’
‘Well my dear chap, I would surmise that the tin of paint hit the ground from a modest height, the lid came off straightway and rolled off to the right, leaving that distinctive meandering trail with gobs of spillage to one side as it proceeded; the tin itself on contact with the ground immediately emptied part of its contents and then slowly rolled to the right to deliver the remainder.’
‘How can you know that Holmes?’
‘My dear Watson, note the two semicircular unblemished areas showing that the tin had been in two positions.’
‘No, Holmes! That’s a load of twaddle! The tin couldn’t possibly leave a pattern like that… semicircular unblemished areas indeed!’
‘No, Watson, when we get back to Baker Street we will conduct a little experiment with such a tin which will show that I am correct in my reasoning.’
‘Mrs Hudson won’t like it Holmes…’

I thinks it’s a pangolin running along with a stolen paper streamer in its mouth…

  1. Oh dear….I see you have indulged yourself in the weekend shenanigans just for a moment there, Dave! I do like the art you found though, it does look rather like a small animal. Talking of Pangolins, I adore the way they walk around with their little paws folded as if they are deep in thought. They look very intellectual and eccentric. 😀

I agree this is a Pangolin portrait. You are always at the right place at the right time.

    Aren’t pangolins brilliant?
