The little human hand print…

But first…
Dulltown, UK: Today’s carefully selected adjectives are: vile, impanate, crinoidal, antelucan, Mousterian, and bumpy.

Here’s a photograph I took, er, captured, er, made, just a couple of days ago. I found myself upstairs on the bus on the second seat from the front; it was chilly outside so the windows were nicely steamed up. Oh, look! Some child has made a nice hand print in the condensation; the next time the bus stops, and momentarily ceases its annoying bouncing around, I’ll see if I can get my little camera out and take a snap of that…

Oh, that turned out surprisingly well didn’t it? I do like the rivulets don’t you? Me, I always like rivulets. I’m glad those tree branches decided to turn up outside to give a bit of background shadow on the left, the print would be more or less invisible against a plain bright sky.
You can tell it’s a child’s hand by the wide spread of the fingers – he or she should take up playing the guitar with a hand like that – for them the ‘long A’ chord would be a piece of cake!  (click here)
People have had the urge to make handprints on things for thousands of years – like those ancient folk mucking around in deep caves:
‘Hey Ugg…’
‘What?’
‘Look what I’ve just done!’
‘Whoa! That’s good! How did you do that?’
‘Here, look, I’ll show you… See?…’
‘Wow!… So Lugg, what do you call this?’
‘I think I might call it art…’
‘That’s a good name… Let’s do some more!…’
