Dave, do you ever take cheese photographs?…

But first…
Dulltown, UK: Today’s unusual china teapot is the one shaped like President Trump’s little sneering mouth. Not a very stylish teapot, and it is a very poor pourer.

Hey!… Does anyone here like cheese?…

Hm, yes, I know.
It is a bit of a cheat I suppose – it’s just a photograph of a photograph – anyone can take a photograph of a photograph you know, there’s nothing clever in that!
If I knew who took the original photo I would credit them, right now, right here, but I’m afraid I don’t.
I think the idea of this composition is, that on first glancing at it, the observer, who might be interested in cheese (I know that a lot of people are) would spot the cheese and think, Aha, a cheese photograph! Right up my street is that! And then they would become aware of my contribution, my noticing, and including in the composition, the seedy environment in which we have encountered this cheese – and they’d think, Aha! Do I detect a whiff of juxtapositional irony here? Yes, I think I do!… I think I might manage a weak smile of approval…

The composition – I think I’ve got the cheese-to-environment ratio just about right, don’t you? Obviously, we spot the cheese first and then there’s just enough scruffy window frame and leaf strewn pavement to visually counterbalance this glowing healthy mouth-wateringly clean bright foodstuff. I wonder if this picture could be classed as mild surrealism? Oh, I think so, don’t you dear reader? Just imagine the cheese trying to jump out of the window at you as you walk past! Look out! Here it comes!…
If the original photographer happens to see this post, I’d be happy to edit this and give them credit for their fine work – if they’d like to just get in touch…

So, Dave – do you ever take interesting vegetable photographs? Globe artichokes, for instance?

  2. Sharon Mann says:

I almost didn’t notice the street, weeds and leaves in the composition…keeping us in reality.

When I think of British cheese, which I rarely do… I’m reminded of Wallace and Gromit and the Wensleydale cheese hahaha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7rzSslub6U
