For entertainment purposes only…

But first…

Ah, so many TV channels and nothing to watch! Who would have thought it would be like this? But let’s put our feet up and just flick through with the remote anyway.
Hello? What’s this? What channel are we on now?
Oh, it’s Freeview channel 68 – an American programme called Ghosts in My Home – oh, there’s a disclaimer at the start of the episode which says, This show is for entertainment purposes only… I suppose they could have said, Actually dear viewer, what you are about to see is of course absolute bollocks…
Hm, so yes, let’s leave it on for a while…
The idea of the show seems to be that people who are troubled with apparitions and revenants and such like, can phone up the producers and get them to send some professional ‘experts’, ‘psychic investigators’, round to take a look, and a listen, and to sort out your spooks for you using wobbly low-light cameras and dramatic music.
This sounds fun!
I’ll tell you what, I think I may jot down a few lines of the voice-over and the participants to give you a feel of the style – I doubt that we’ll be hearing the actually spirits though, they generally get by with just making strange humming noises in cupboards, and slamming doors in distant empty rooms, but dear reader, you never know…

Look here, look here! – it’s getting too weird for me – I’m shaking like crazy! – now I’m hearing the word “trouble” – mixed emotions and confused spirits – a super tremendous amount of power – I see, like… a TV screen! – the bright energy from the kitchen suddenly turns dark – terrible, horrific! – I gotta guard myself! – old, old, old energy! – I’m getting images of tepees – I gotta headache right now – the energy is coming out of my back – a sacred burial site? – they don’t want me to be here – the origin of that bad spirit – the deserted burial ground – it’s given me a new outlook – ah, I see somebody with a knife! – the intuitive healer is on her way now…

I’m not sure I would call that show “entertainment”!

a swell collection of phrases that can be’mixed or matched’ for fun… such as ‘I’m getting images of tepees – they don’t want me to be here – mixed emotions and confused spirits- ah, I see somebody with a knife! – now I’m hearing the word “trouble”
