But first…

Criss-crosses?
I had to just check the spelling of that, it looked wrong to me. Criss-crosses. It sounds like someone’s name.
Yes, I thought that a lino print with curved lines deliberately overlapping might look good, or if not good, slightly interesting. Plenty of them, demonstrating their depth issues – one passing over another, that sort of thing.
Oh, come on, dear reader, let’s have a quick look at the original drawing.
But Dave, why is there an X, on some masking tape, on that little white thing, the thing lolling on the piece of paper? Is it something to do with Twitter?
Oh, that little white thing? Well, no, not Twitter. That is a ‘Tipp-Ex Mini Shake’n Squeeze’.
A Tipp-Ex Mini Shake’n Squeeze, Dave?
Yes, it’s one of those white markers for whiting-out mistakes when one is writing stuff. They are very handy when one is drawing and adjusting things, in ink and pencil.
And the added X?
Oh, that’s there because I have a few of these ‘Tipp-Ex Mini Shake’n Squeezes’. The X means that, that is the one that is being currently used – so I don’t end up with a few of them, kicking about the place, all opened and half-used – get it?
Yes, I get it… Bendy stripes then?
Yes, and plenty of them! All carefully drawn with a nice pair of compasses.
To be eventually cut with a pair of cutting compasses too?
Indeed, yes. Oh, and by the way…
Yes?
I think there will be a pair of eyes in the design too…
Eyes?…
Yes… eyes…
