Well Dave, that’s an odd photograph…

But first…
Dulltown, UK: Today’s elephant in the room is the one trying to look like a human, but struggling to hold its coffee cup steadily.

Yes, it is an odd one, isn’t it, dear reader?

It was taken from inside the big supermarket in the middle of Dulltown centre.
I don’t know if one is able to take photographs inside a supermarket, but I suppose people do it all the time now, with their phones – Dear Mavis, just look at the price of these effing cucumbers! You know, that sort of thing.

Perhaps, dear reader, you might like an explanation of this?
Let’s start on the right; the painted sign is probably saying something like ‘goodbye shoppers’ as there are some exit doors (usually kept closed) underneath it.
Now, the surprise green and white item sloping and hovering on the left, in the air, outside, well not outside really, suspended outside in the shopping centre walkway.
It is an aeroplane. You don’t hear the word aeroplane much these days. Generally, they are just called planes now.
I use the old fashioned term, as this thing is supposed to be old. It’s not a real plane, of course, but it is a good true-size replica of an old one.

Yes, it is of Amy Johnson’s plane, that she used to fly solo to Australia in 1930.
She was born in this city – hence the presence of the model.
It looks pretty nice.

Goodbye! I’m off!…
